I have been a spectator at the last three polar plunges and I have to say that I was very disappointed with the organization and the set up of this years plunge in Cazanovia. I think its very safe to say that people show up to watch and enjoy a spectacle for a great cause. This year? No one was able to even get a decent view, I realize that paramedics and perhaps members of law enforcement need to be standing by ready to assist... So why exactly are there eight and twelve year olds standing directly in front of the "Plunge" blocking the view of everyone else? All together there must have been at least two dozen men, women and children blocking the audiences view. We come to watch our family and friends take the plunge for a good cause... Not to watch the backsides of numerous people who had no business even standing at the lip of the pool.

And what about substituting the snow fence that has been used in the past to keep the audience a safe distance away and instead used the large piles of snow and blocks of ice? All that seemed to do was cause a three inch puddle of ice water to be trapped for all these officials to stand in. Luckily for the crowd watching at least it chased a few people away from the lip of the pool who had no business standing there in the first place. I noticed that several of the Plungers were even concerned about the extension cords that were now under this three inch deep puddle of water.
