Garrett is well known in our area and has been very active in this community throughout his lifetime. He is a retired Professor of geology and geography who taught at the University of Wisconsin Richland for 37 years. In addition to his dedication to his classes, he built a solar heated house in Richland Center in the 1980’s. Garrett is presently interested in US energy policy and is researching the effects of Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere. He enjoys the challenge of putting his studies to practical use.

Garrett’s has done extensive research on Carbon Dioxide and its importance in the earth’s atmosphere and to all living things. He will also share some findings on various types of energy. In addition, Garrett will share some of the facts and myths surrounding these various forms of energy. Historic evidence shows that climate change is inevitable. From his studies, Garrett believes that we need to respond to changes in atmospheric conditions rather than trying to affect these changes. The research he has been conducting has uncovered a vast amount of statistical information. Garrett is currently organizing his research material so this body of information might be offered as part of a seminar series at UW-Richland in the near future.
