Welcome to the 19th Annual

Hunting Heritage Banquet - NWTF

Scenic Hills Chapter

 

We would like to congratulate Bud Jordahl as this year’s  “Land Stewardship” award winner and Steve Board “Center Court” as the recipient of our “Friends Of Scenic Hills” award.

Also, congratulations to our Scholarship winners; Bethany Cressey, Colt Watson & David Klang. Each student will receive a $300 scholarship from Scenic Hills.

 

2008 Scenic Hills Chapter Highlights:

 

Projects invested in Conservation:

·         Gave away 12 frozen turkeys to the needy

 

·         Purchased 1200 trees for wildlife habitat.

 

·         1,200 lbs. of food to the Richland Co. Food Pantry

 

·         $500.00 - “Learn to Hunt” for insurance, food and supplies.

 

·         $500.00 - “Jakes Day” for insurance, food and supplies.

 

·         $500.00 - Purchase pheasants for Richland Center FFA.

 

·          This past April we held our 8th Annual “First Time Learn to Hunt” program. Fifteen first time hunters participated. Four turkeys were bagged making it a very successful hunt and learning experience. Thanks to the Richland Locker for providing the meat for this great event.

 

·         We also held our 9th Annual “Jakes Day” event with 50+ youth in attendance at Gander’s Hill Country Archery. Thanks to

Strang’s Heating & Electric for providing the food.

 

Upcoming Events for 2009:

 

·         March 31st,April 2nd & 4th – 9th Annual “Learn to Hunt” program. The range portion of the program will be held on the 31st and the education portion will be held on the 2nd  before going out to hunt April 4th.  Fifteen first time hunters are participating this year. A big thank you to the Richland Locker for providing the food for this event.

 

·         July 25th  – 10th Annual “Jakes Day” event at Gander’s Hill Country Archery. There will be archery, trapshooting and other educational events for the youth on that day. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided by Strang’s
Heating & Electric. Come and join the fun!!

 

·         August 16th – Land Owner Appreciation Day will be held at Mick Memorial Park, Hub City. This is a chance for hunters
to take your landowners out for a chicken dinner. There will
be a raffle for a gun and other prizes as well. Come join us
on the 16th @ 11:00 AM.
